Into Virginia

In October 2025 the Authority announced a connector from Bramwell on Trail 34 to the Spearhead Trails' Original Pocahontas system in Virginia. You need a valid permit from both organizations. For other riding destinations, see our guide to other West Virginia trails.

Connected systems

Pinnacle Creek, Warrior, Indian Ridge and Pocahontas connect into one southern group the Authority describes as the most continuous miles of trails east of the Mississippi.

What the map marks

The brochure map marks a pond and an overlook, along with Bramwell and the trailhead. It also labels the Indian Ridge side of the network. Use those landmarks to orient your ride, then check the current map before choosing trails.

Who it suits

Green and blue trails form the majority in both official breakdowns. Black, red/black and single track give experienced riders harder options. Plan a route that matches everyone in your group.

Town stops and coal history

The Authority lists food, fuel and lodging in both Bramwell and Montcalm. In Bramwell, the Depot's Coal Heritage Trail Interpretive Center explains the area's coal history. The town's brick streets and preserved coal-baron homes give you another reason to stop after riding.

Vehicles and trail signs

Pocahontas is closed to full-size ORVs such as Jeeps and trucks. UTVs can use green and blue trails and the Most Difficult trails signed for them. Keep the route's vehicle restrictions in mind as you plan a ride into the neighboring systems.
