Connected systems
Pinnacle Creek, Warrior, Indian Ridge and Pocahontas connect into one southern group the Authority describes as the most continuous miles of trails east of the Mississippi.
Who it suits
Both official breakdowns put most Pinnacle Creek trails in the green and blue categories. They also show black, red/black and single track. That leaves choices for different skill levels, but the rating of each trail matters more than the system average.
Stops in Pineville
The Authority lists food, fuel and lodging in Pineville. Castle Rock is the town's sandstone landmark, and the Wyoming County Courthouse overlooks town from a hillside. Pineville sits along the Guyandotte River, with fishing and kayaking among its off-trail activities.
Vehicles and trail signs
Pinnacle Creek is not open to full-size ORVs such as Jeeps and trucks. UTV routes include green and blue trails and selected Most Difficult trails marked for UTV use. Read the vehicle signs before adding a harder trail to your route.
